I am Shonella Morgan; I was born in the South American continent in the Republic of Guyana. I have taken up the profession of teaching as a life-long career because I would like to make a significant difference in the lives of children in the same way my teachers have touched my life.  I have a passion for arts and craft, and this ICT course in education has further enhanced my abilities.

The EDTK 2030: Information and Technology in Education course is designed to enable teachers to know how to research and apply the knowledge of ICT in the classroom. Therefore, as a teacher, I am to carefully examine the web 2.0 tools that can be used in the classroom to foster collaboration between teacher and student, thus improving the teaching learning experience in ICT-mediated instruction, (Seepersad, 2015).
Moreover, the contents of the units outline the objectives that I as a teacher-learner should be competent in at the end of the course, such as becoming aware of the different learning theories related to ICT mediated instruction, as well as learning how to use the WEB 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, social networks, computer based multimedia and communications technologies, gloster, voki, voicethread , Blackboard Collaborate, to name a few to develop not only the students' critical thinking skills, but also to develop my own higher order thinking skills as laid out in Bloom’s taxonomy of learning, also for me to use assistive technologies in the classroom to better assist students, (Seepersad, 2015).
